Matthew Poe, a principal at architecture firm Ayers Saint Gross since 2007, brings to his clients a comprehensive academic and professional background in architecture. After earning his five-year degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Matt Poe joined Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill before enrolling in Yale University's Art and Architecture School. At Yale, he won the prestigious Edward C. Meeks Scholarship and completed a thesis on housing for individuals without permanent homes in New York City. Matthew Poe soon formed his own firm with a partner and completed predominantly residential projects.
In 2002, Matt Poe accepted a position as partner at Hartman Cox Architects, where he completed designs for commercial developments and academic buildings. Since joining his current company, he has finished downtown and waterfront designs for the city of Baltimore, a nearly $5 million expansion for the University of Delaware, and a comprehensive master plan for Harvard University. Also a socially conscious individual, he sat on D.C. Central Kitchen's Board of Trustees for six years.
