Matthew Roberson

Hello world! My name is Matthew Roberson. Born and raised on the Central Coast. I am married to my beautiful wife Debbie Bloom Roberson. We have 3 awesome children: Ricky, Priscilla, and Paul. Both my wife and I are Staff Pastors at Pacific Christian Center. I am the Discipleship & Prayer Pastor and my wife is the Executive Pastor. I love to preach and teach. I love seeing people grow closer and closer to God- to the point they also serve and minister to others. Most of my life growing up I hardly ever talked to anyone. If anyone wanted to be my friend they would have to carry the conversation. I lived in quite a bit of fear. I remember when out at a restaurant I would have to tell my cousins to go ask the employee at the counter for more condiments because I was too scared to. So as you can imagine life has been a struggle for me. I had a target on my back for bullies. Each and every school I went to they would find me. We moved often while growing up. I am so thankful that I was brought up in the same church. But I'll tell you what I did not get really serious about God until I was about 15-16 years old. I really started allowing Him to do a work in me. As the years kept going I just wanted to get closer and closer to Him. I would have church services in my room, lots of praise and worship, His Word, solid books on growing closer to God, and listening to preachers on tv. That all combined to make an incredible impact. And then I started really seeking God to find out what my calling was. To my surprise He told me I was to preach and teach. My response was, "WHATTT!! NO...haha you are so funny Jesus. I am not a communicator at all." I remember being in history class and studdering and shaking all the way through an essay. I didn't do public speaking, let alone very much private speaking haha. So I asked Him to send random people that were close to me to tell me that I was called to preach and teach and then to finalize it I would need my Pastor to tell me as well. Sure enough all of this happened just as I had asked. Then I met my beautiful wife to be. God was definitely compelling and enabling me to court this woman and here we are... serving God together as we step into our calling. The only reason I am alive today is because of Jesus. He is everything! He paid it all and all to Him I freely give!
