Beyond his professional commitments, he is an ardent reader, drawing inspiration from the works of authors such as Brandon Sanderson and Adrian Tchaikovsky. He has a flair for the culinary arts, mastering cooking techniques and delving into nutrition and cost-saving methods. His culinary passion was ignited by watching cooking videos, with "Binging with Babish" being a notable favorite. Additionally, he satisfies his wanderlust by exploring the wonders of nature, embarking on travel expeditions to destinations as diverse as the serene national parks of Vancouver, Canada, and the mystical landscapes of Iceland and India.

His commitment to giving back to the community knows no bounds. He volunteered at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, IA, offering unwavering support and comfort to patients in the Oncology Unit. Moreover, he actively contributes to charitable causes, including MN State Troopers, MN DNR, and JDRF, reaffirming his dedication to positively impacting society.

As he and Erica eagerly anticipate their seventh wedding anniversary on September 3, 2023, their enduring bond is a testament to the love and strength they have nurtured.
