Matthew T. Simpson, Esq., originally from Toronto, Canada, is a U.S.-based corporate attorney and former Legal Advisor to the Darfur Peace Negotiations, with a unique blend of corporate, public, and not-for-profit sector experience in a variety of diverse regions and industries.

As a corporate attorney, Matt has represented sovereign governments, public and private companies, and industry associations in a range of multimillion and billion dollar domestic and cross-border transactions and on WTO, bilateral, and domestic trade remedy mechanisms. A member of Mintz Levin's Energy Technology and Corporate Practices, Matt currently focuses on renewable energy project financings and acquisitions, and broader M&A and corporate governance matters.

Reflecting an interest in emerging markets and public international law, Matt also has experience with over fifteen post-conflict peace and ​social justice initiatives around the globe (including appointments from the United Nations and African Union), has published on a variety of topics in renowned journals and books, and has spoken extensively to the media and other audiences on peace negotiations and post-conflict development.
