As a foreign principal and consultant/educator with international schools in Beijing and Shenzhen, China, Matthew Wendt builds upon two decades of experience as a school superintendent and assistant superintendent in the United States. Before assuming his current professional role in 2018, he oversaw approximately 10,000 Pre-K through 12th-grade students as the administrative head of Fayetteville Public Schools, the seventh largest public school system in Arkansas. Matthew Wendt also supervised and supported more than 1,500 employees, developing an improved staffing plan and strategy to provide the first salary increases in more than a decade.
Mr. Wendt holds active membership in both the Arkansas Association of School Administrators and the American Association of School Administrators. He has supported numerous additional professional and community associations as a member, board member, chair, and guest speaker. His most notable presentations include District-wide Strategies for Turnaround Change at the No Child Left Behind Conference and Culturally Responsive Leading for Dramatic Improvements in Student Achievement at the National Alliance of Black School Educators Conference.
