Matthew Wolf

For Matthew Wolf, Capital Group partner and investment analyst from 2008 to 2023, his experience in many different sectors, including energy and utilities, retail, banking, property and telecommunications has been key to his investment success. Mr Wolf started working for Capital Group in 2008 and, between 2017 and 2019, was research director for the Asia-Pacific team of Capital World Investors. In this role he led a team of eight investment analysts with responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region. He recruited, hired and mentored new analysts and collected and delivered portfolio manager feedback for performance reviews. He also assigned coverage and organised investment retreats.

Prior to this, Matthew Wolf (Switzerland) worked for Bain Capital, a private equity firm in Boston, Massachusetts, as an associate. In this role he undertook financial and business diligence in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, consumer, chemical, industrial and retail sectors for eight leveraged buyout transactions. Four of these transactions successfully closed.

When he’s not working, Mr Wolf likes spending time with his family, downhill and cross-country skiing, and playing tennis. He is currently studying French, having previously studied Spanish, Portuguese and Mandarin.

Mr Wolf has been an active supporter of the Grameen Foundation for more than ten years. This organisation helps women in the developing world escape poverty by using technology to improve their access to financial products
