Matthew Yao
Student, Musician, and Volunteer in Troy, Michigan
Hey there.
I go by Matt because sometime during high school my friends found the "hew" to be unnecessary. My abridged name also suits my physical qualities: short.
Short and scrawny, I discovered from a young age that my proficiency at anything sports-related rivals that of Stephen Hawking. My challenged physique is plenty justification for me becoming a violinist. As for violin, I grade myself minimally decent. I am part of Troy High School's top orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra. Do bear in mind, though, that Symphony is full of clowns that fake it because they didn't practice. Sometimes, I myself belong to that category. By now, the perception you have of me is probably that I reek of self-deprecation and the desire to tarnish my orchestra's reputation. However, pessimism is just part of who I am. My Hobbesian worldview is what drives me to create betterment in life.
