👋 Hi, I'm Matt – Tech Leader with Developer DNA.

I lead software development strategically because I've walked the path myself: from Java Developer (1999) through Tech Lead and Head of Development at DFL Digital Sports (Bundesliga platforms) to today's Managing Director role at Cologne Intelligence (60 employees).

What sets me apart:
I understand developers, architecture, and modern tech stacks – not theoretically, but from 20+ years of hands-on experience. At the same time, I've learned how to translate IT strategies into business success.

What I'm passionate about:
☁️ Cloud Architecture & AWS
In 2017, I transformed the Bundesliga's digital infrastructure from traditional data centers to cloud-native on AWS. This work laid the foundation for the later AWS x DFL partnership. At Cologne Intelligence, I'm building on this expertise, established our partnership, and help companies with cloud transformations.
🔒 Digital Sovereignty & Cybersecurity
I'm interested in building European alternatives to US hyperscalers (e.g., stackIT partnership) while developing secure software. Especially relevant with increasing compliance requirements (NIS2, KRITIS, DORA).
👥 Team Scaling & Leadership
I've scaled employee teams, implemented agile methodologies, and guided cultural transformations. My focus: empowering developers to deliver autonomously.
