Matthias Böhmer

Currently, I am a researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Saarbrücken. Since January 2011 I am working at the Innovative Retail Laboratory, which is being led by Antonio Krüger. Previously, I was a research associate at the Software Engineering Lab of Münster University of Applied Sciences (2007-2010). My main research focus is on context-aware recommender systems for mobile applications. I am interested in deducing the contextual relevance of particular apps from a user’s device interaction. For instance, I am investigating application usage and the arrangement of the apps' icons as an implicit feedback for recommender systems. Additionally, I am keen on finding out which specific context features are important within the domain of mobile application recommendation. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science (2005) and a Master of Science in Information Technology (2007) from Münster University of Applied Sciences. At the moment I am enrolled as a PhD student at the Institute for Geoinformatics of University of Münster.
