Hello All,

My name is Matthew Nichenko. I am a Teach for America Core Member working with 11th and 12th graders at Carnahan School of the Future in SLPS. I came to St. Louis from Shreveport Louisiana where I completed my undergraduate at Centenary College of Louisiana. What makes me relateable to my students is that I used to play Division 1 Basketball during my time at Centenary. My students love asking me about my experiences and the culture of being a scholarship athlete.

Additionally, my last name originates from the Ukrainian region, while most of my blood heritage is Chilean - from my mothers side. I enjoy being a first generation American on both of my parents sides. And it has lead to some complex family tree projecting growing up through grade school.

Overall, I'm a laid back goofy guy, who looks forward to becoming my best possible teacher self. I simply love teaching English and telling stories!

The End!
