Matt Price

My name is Matt Price and I am a sophomore football player at the University of Georgia. I’ve played football since I was seven years old and was blessed with the opportunity to continue my career in college. The game of football is my main squeeze and although it can be excruciatingly painful, I intend on playing as long as I’m physically able to. Some of my greatest memories have been made between the white lines. But it isn’t always fun and rewarding. The workouts are tough and physically draining. As a team, we have to wake up at 5 every day of the week for a 6 AM run, and then each player has an assigned time to lift. When these are combined with classes and tutoring sessions, my schedule fills up very quickly. On a good day, I have about an hour and a half at night to relax before I get at most 6 hours of sleep. The weekends are my saving grace, as in the summer they mean time off, and in the fall they mean gamedays. If you haven’t experienced a football game between the hedges, you’re life is incomplete. Being surrounded by 92,000 of your friends while we dominate whoever is bold enough to enter Sanford Stadium is an experience unmatched by any other.
