Life is full of choices and opportunities. I chose to become a mechanical engineer, and that decision led me to many other choices. I chose to be part of a solar boat senior design team, which led to the opportunity to visit the Netherlands for a competition, and spend several weeks in other parts of Europe (including Germany for World Cup 2006) whilst there. I chose a first job out of college which wasn't a good fit for me, but provided an opportunity to go to Japan. I chose to find another job in order to get back to my hometown of Pittsburgh, and that has led to a plethora of other opportunities. At the same time, my choice of career has left me with less time to pursue my other interests - playing music, reading, and sports. I have to work hard to set aside time for composing songs on piano and guitar, and I'm making an effort to get back into shape this year by doing P90X and trying to play soccer or disc golf at least once a week. Going to have to keep at it to fit in some reading... I also recently started a blog called Awesome Song of the Day where I try to incorporate a mix of lyrically meaningful and just plain fun music, often relating to current events in my life.
