From the age of 11 to age 53 I eliminated holding hands; they were unpleasant to the contact, therefore puffed up, painful and hot!!!

I was given many different drugs and went through all kinds of solutions for my arthritis.

From the age of 11 to age 53 I avoided holding hands; they were unpleasant to the effect, so puffed up, hot!! and uncomfortable!

Raising four kiddies, of course, I had to carry their hands. I tried so very hard to not inform them how unpleasant it was but, they realized I was in constant pain.

Since holding hands was something we missed I always felt bad for my husband. It was hard to knit or crochet, that we loved to complete.

Walking, bending or standing for any period of time was so unpleasant for me. My children learned, as little children, to accomplish what ever they might to help at home.

I went to over thirteen "Arthritis" authorities, that have been of little if any support.

I was prescribed numerous drugs and went through all kinds of treatments for my arthritis.

I was in so much pain that I tried anything and everything to find comfort.

I was so desperate to get something that would end my pain that I:

* Went to more than 13 physicians, ("Arthritis Specialists")

* I got Codeine, Darvon, Sprays and "Gold Treatments"

* I was put in traction with a large weight to stretch her body, was attached to the bed and could not go for a week!

* I was put in a chest muscles cast for 3 months

* I wore shoe lifts

* And so much more!!!

In 1980, the final year I suffered from Arthritis, I used an average of $40.00 month on varied drugs, $30.00 for a regular doctor visit and $30.00 on pain killers. That's an overall total of $100.00 a month. I wish I may have used that money on anything I loved to do as an alternative.
