Matt Schaar has spent his 13-year career doing all sorts of zany things, and that's beyond the 50-mile trail runs he's become known for slinging on occasion. Whether building marketing or customer success teams, engineering aircraft engine parts, helping humanitarian organizations thrive, he's always asked the age-old question:

"What shall I learn next?"

Matt's journey has taken him from advising Fortune 500 companies, startups, and non-profit organizations through two agencies he founded (SwarmNYC and Brush Labs) and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), to most recently laying the foundation for top-notch teams in Customer Success and Product and Developer Marketing at GitHub, one of the gems of Silicon Valley.

While in the throes of academia at The University of Michigan, completing his MBA and Master of Public Policy degrees, he engaged with policy and business leaders on several projects in the Philippines, Jamaica, and South Africa - this was the first time he discovered the tangible value of sound policy and effective technology working together for social good. This was a far jump from his days as a (literal) rocket scientist after graduating With Honors from Michigan's College of Engineering and beginning his career with Rolls-Royce, plc and The Boeing Company, where he engaged with clients on six continents and completed exchange programs in Germany and China.
