Hi. I'm an author, cook, indie publisher, podcaster and Kentucky-based sustainable seafood advocate.

When I'm not writing or cooking, I photograph wildlife, play with Reggie my neurotic, ten-year-old wire fox terrier (who thinks he's two), take naps, and try to play better guitar. But not at the same time! My go-to acoustic guitar songs are The Beatles "Let It Be" and anything Tom Petty.

I cracked and cooked over 125,000 chicken eggs over a ten-year period. I once rode a camel in Israel and a donkey in Martinique. I piloted a WWII T-6 Texan and have traveled to 136 destinations, both domestic and internationally. (Not in the T-6.)

These days I'm rooted in Kentucky, land of horses, hoops, and bourbon. And not necessarily in that order.

In 2016, I published Salmon From Market To Plate when you want to eat salmon that is good for you and the oceans, a cookbook for conscientious cooks who want to maintain a sustainable salmon kitchen.

In 2017, to keep the sustainable seafood conversation going while I work on the second book, Shrimp From Market To Plate, I launched a podcast, Green Fish Blue Oceans where stories about seafood are good for you and the oceans. Available on iTunes and Google Play. (And please subscribe!)
