Maurice Bobb


Covering sports and hip-hop for over a decade, Maurice Bobb, freelance writer for such publications as SLAM Magazine, where he has his own blog, “Make It Take It,” MTV News and MTV RapFix, has interviewed some of the biggest names in professional sports, music and entertainment including LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Rick Ross, Kevin Hart (2012's "Hart to Heart"), Queen Latifah, Common, Bun B (2012’s “Bun B Day's 'First Priority' Is Feeding Houston Children”), Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy and Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander (2011's "Summer of George").

He has written human interest stories (2012’s “Dickinson family will be home for holidays thanks to Alvin-area company”), traveled abroad on assignment (2011’s “French Bliss”) and served as contributing editor for RIDES Magazine and sports copy editor for the Houston Chronicle, assigning other writers stories while also writing his own features for print and online.

In 2012, Bobb served as a social media consultant for a NIKE campaign focusing on coordinating chats and cultivating content for the NCAA Tournament on social digital media outlets, primarily Twitter and Facebook.

Currently, he is a featured columnist for The Shadow League (2012’s “The Houston Chronicles”), an ESPN-partnered site focusing on sports and culture with the real: insights, commentary and analysis.
