Max Crown

Max Crown is Chief Finance and Operating Officer at MoonPay. Max began his career in 2004 at Mercedes-Benz McLaren and has worked in numerous operations, finance, and risk roles over the past 16 years, in 3 different countries. From 2008 - 2010 he acted as the CFO for a luxury real estate company in London and Brazil, dealing with all financial, tax and regulatory aspects of the Group. In 2010, Max moved to Brazil to start his own boutique advisory firm with a focus on promoting international investments in Brazil. He assisted large US and UK investment funds in numerous investments ranging from greenfield land developments to buying large credit portfolios. Being trilingual, Max was able to liaison among the Brazilian regulatory and tax authorities, local banks, and their foreign counterparts. He has extensive experience in managing cross-country frameworks, both on the reporting as well as the compliance front.

For the past two years, Max has played a central role in helping to set up and shape MoonPay’s finance and operation divisions, including installing in-house control systems, devising risk management programs and guidelines, in addition to liaising with the regulators around the globe. Max graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies from City University in London in 2004 and a Master of Finance from London Business School in 2009. He obtained a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 2014.
