Writer, Editor, and Public Speaker in Los Angeles, California
Originally from California, I moved to Washington, DC after college to write about congressional issues. Landing my byline in newspapers such as the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Daily News and San Jose Mercury News led to a press and communications internship on Capitol Hill for California Congressman John Garamendi.
Most recently, I am a business development analyst for a small government contactor, and would like to parlay my new-found business knowledge and previous communications experience into an eventual career in public relations.
I also love to perform stand-up comedy, performing at various shows throughout the DC area, including several charity/non-profit events. Working with a group called LYGO DC (www.lygodc.com), I pitch stories to local media and emcee several shows monthly. I have performed on stages in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and of course DC as well as Baltimore.
My professional experience can best be summarized as:
- Seasoned writer, having been published in over 20 California newspapers
- Experience working at the local, state and federal government level
- A business development background, with extensive research abilities and business acumen.
