Derry, Northern Ireland

I work in Derry/City of Derry, on Magee campus, as Senior Lecturer in Celtic Studies, Irish Folklore and Early Literature. I research in comparative philology, history of Celtic Studies, maritime folklore, Celto-Indic, Celto-Slavic and Celto-Armenian parallels in narrative and popular beliefs, primarily interested in the institutions of power and religion, their shift, transition and transformation. I have also been centrally involved in a number of digitisation projects, including compilation of electronic Dictionary of the Irish Language, digitisation of maritime stories from Ireland and Scotland as well as of early Irish sagas. As a Founding Member of Societas Celto-Slavica, its Secretary and a General Editor of its journal, Studia Celto-Slavica, I was involved in organisation of its six colloquia in Coleraine, Moscow, Dubrovnik, Brno, Lodz and St. Petersburg and co-edited seven volumes of the Celto-Slavica series.
