Max Jacobs has over two decades of senior level experience as a Human Resources professional in the Mining Industry (across Canada and in Asia), Pulp and Paper Industry, and Aboriginal Administration. Throughout his career, Max has overseen and directed the operations of human resources and especially workforce development and training. As a seasoned senior manager, he has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of successful policies and procedures and recruitment and training programs.

His generalist experience in HR has included employee development and training, leadership development programs, recruiting, total compensation structures, performance management, pay-per-skill and pay-per-performance compensations plans, workforce planning and development, terminations, job evaluation, expat-to-national job transition planning, talent management strategies including succession planning, and organizational development.

Max has served on corporate boards such as the Newfoundland Farm Products Corporation and the Newfoundland and Labrador Rural Development Council; provided training advisory services on the Offshore Petroleum Impact Committee of the NL Government; and volunteered as advisor to an Asia-based NGO. These experiences and his innate business acumen developed in him a strong interest in entrepreneurship and helped him cultivate his caring-and-helping nature.

He has a strong interest in capacity building as a strategy for sustainable development.
