Systems Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts
Forever a lifelong student with my Masters degree in Health Informatics from Northeastern University and my Bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from MCPHS University. My professional interests include healthcare information systems implementation, interface usability and workflow design, and clinical decision support systems. I have recently been accepted to the Medical University of South Carolina to begin my Doctorate in Healthcare Administration beginning in September 2017.
I am working in the IT sector at the moment as a Systems Engineer - I maintain the LAN/WAN as well as the telecom systems for the MCPHS University Boston campus. I have 5+ years' experience working in academic IT at a health professions university. Through the years I have worked directly with multiple Health Information Systems including, eClinicalWorks EHR System, Dentrix Enterprise – Dental Practice Management Software, Siemens Radiology Image Management System, Candelis Radiology Information Systems, Health Business Systems RxGENESYS – Pharmacy Management System, and Laerdal Nursing and Health Professional Simulation Manikins.
Each summer I have the pleasure of teaching "Managing Healthcare Information Systems”, a course that I developed, in the Masters of Healthcare Administration program at MCPHS Online/MCPHS University. It's such an amazing experience to share my knowledge and passion about healthcare information systems with my students and to see them apply what they've learned to their future careers.
While I know that most people take their IT department for granted, I love what I do every day and keep coming back for more...
With Peace and Light,
