Hire me

I was born in Toronto in 1997 to two educators. At the age of 7 my family had decided to move to Sudbury as my father had been offered a job at Laurentian University, and my mother being given a job at Cambrian college teaching nursing. Having two parents be involved in the teaching profession throughout the entirety of my growing up caused me to have a love for learning and a respect for those who facilitated it. One area of specific interest for myself growing up was history, due to having a father with his doctorate in the field. Whether it was our house being filled with history books, or my dad constantly watching the history channel, it was hard to escape. Luckily I always enjoyed learning about the past so this was never an issue. Academics were not the only thing I enjoyed growing up. As a young boy living in Northern Ontario I naturally began playing hockey and liked it so much that I continued to play until I aged out of my league at 17 n. I also grew up playing lacrosse, skateboarding, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing. My first experience with childcare or teaching in any way was when I was 16 working as a summer camp counselor. I enjoyed this job quite a bit and looking back I can say that it is one of the reasons I want to pursue a career in education. After high school I decided to apply to the Concurrent Education program at Laurentian with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Throughout the past number of years at Laurentian my appreciation for what it means to be a teacher, and my want to become one, have only strengthened.
