A SHORT BIO ||

Hi! I'd like to thank you for taking the time to visit my website. My name is May Angeles and I am a Worship Leader by calling. Music and ministry have been huge factors of my life growing up, and being able to use them both to glorify God is such a blessing. I am a graduate of Vanguard University with a BA in Music and Worship Arts and an emphasis in Worship Leadership. My life is committed to serving The Lord, and I have surrendered my life as a sacrifice of praise. I believe that in order for a sacrifice to be an acceptable offering, it must be the very best. Therefore, I am fine tuning my craft in order to skillfully use it in ministry. God deserves our very best, and nothing less.

PHILOSOPHY OF WORSHIP ||

When I think of worship, I think of when Jesus was questioned whether it was right to pay taxes to Caesar. Since the denarius had Caesar’s image and inscription on it, it belonged to Caesar. He told them to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and give to God what is God’s. We are all made in the image of God (imago Dei) and we have his every breath inscribed within us. So therefore, we owe the entirety of who we are to God. We need to give to God what is God’s. Romans 12:1-2 says:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

We need to surrender to God our full beings. That is what worship is to me. It is an act of surrendering yourself to God and submitting fully to His will. Though worship is commonly tied with music, I do not believe that music is the only means of worship. Worship can be expressed in acts of kindness, in praising God in trying circumstances, and even in silence and solitude. Worship is not what we do, it is how we do things and more importantly who we do things for. It is all for the glory of God.
