New York, NY
Born in the island of Dominican Republic, I enjoyed the warm weather and eating sugar canes on the balcony of my home. When I was five years old, I moved to New York City with my parents and join the rest of my family.
Adjusting to the cold weather, language, and hectic New York lifestyle was pretty hard for me in the beginning. But after a couple of months later, I was speaking English like a true American and I was understanding the trends in my group age.
Living in New York City is like having the best of both worlds. I grew up in Washington Heights in Manhattan and it's like being back home in Dominican Republic while still living in the city. Here I've elarned how to embrace both my Dominican and American culture and mold it into one.
