May Tobias-Papa

MAY TOBIAS-PAPA graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines where she taught typography, illustration, layout and copywriting subjects. May has had extensive creative experience both as copywriter and art director, having worked for an NGO, a university press, and some of the country's top advertising and media corporations. May's portfolio as writer and illustrator of children's books consists of work published by Adarna House, Bookmark, Tahanan Books, Lampara Books, Liwayway Marketing Corporation and Vibal Publishing/LG&M Corp. Her book "Araw sa Palengke (A Day in the Market)" was named one of the National Children's Book Awards Best Reads of 2010. Its mobile app version got a starred review from Kirkus.
