Maziyar PANAHI is a software engineer and backend developer with extensive experience in computer networks and software development. He has been programming and developing software for almost 12 years. In the past he also worked as a network planner and engineer after he completed Microsoft and CISCO courses (MCSE, MCSA, and CCNA). He was responsible for planning and implementing Windows-based and Linux-based computer networks to provide services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Caching, Database servers such as Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and MySQL, and Web Servers such as Apache and IIS in many companies and organisations such as International Airport and Refinery. Recently he has been designing and implementing application backend by using AWS cloud services.
He is currently employed by CNRS and his special interests are auto-scalable, highly-available, and real-time Web and mobile applications by using bleeding-edge technologies such as Node.js, Socket.io, Express.js, Redis, and MongoDB. He is also working on real-time processing in Big Data by using Apache Shark and Impala along with batch processing by using Apache Hive on Amazon EMR Hadoop clusters and Cloudera Manager. Machine learning, building recommender engines by using Apache Mahout, and visualizing Big Data in realtime streaming from social networks especially Twitter on geo-location maps are his other interests.
