Ibrahim Mbye
Born on 23rd September 1995, Ibrahim Mbye is a passionate Gambian educator, filmmaker, and activist, known for his dedication to both the creative arts and social justice.
With over 5 years of teaching experience, Ibrahim holds an Advanced Diploma in Education from The Gambia College and is currently pursuing a degree in Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance at the International Open University (IOU).
As a qualified filmmaker and *Director of Dream Stars Movie Production, Ibrahim has committed himself to storytelling that uplifts voices and inspires change. He also serves as the Executive Director of Baati Jigeenyi, a powerful organization that fights to abolish forced marriage for women and girls in The Gambia.
In addition to his activism, Ibrahim plays a leading role in the creative industry as:
- Marketing & Communication Director of the clothing brand Go Get It
- Information & Public Relations Officer (IPRO) of the *Banjul Film Festival
IPRO of The Gambia Scout Wolf Adventure
- A proud member of the Film Producers Association of The Gambia (FPAG)
Vision & Goals:
Ibrahim’s mission is to use film, education, and advocacy to create real change in his community. His vision is a Gambia where young people, especially girls and women, are empowered, protected, and given a platform to thrive free from oppression, violence, or forced marriage. Through media, education, and leadership, he continues to inspire the next generation to dream big, speak up, and take action.
