Hello, I am Laura McClure, If I am not working on my next book, or planning my next speaking engagement, you can be sure to find me enjoying quality time with my large family. My sweetheart of fifty-six years and I have six children, We are the proud grandparents of sixteen grandchildren and the great- grandparents of thirteen great -grandchildren and counting. I have experienced many different opportunities in life, and finds pleasure in releasing pieces of my life through the characters in my fictional novels.

Earlier in my career , I found a home in the hospitality industry. I have worked for many upscale hotels across the State of Alabama. Later, I moved on to become the Director of Environmental Services for Lake Shore Hospital in Birmingham, AL. In 2007, I lost one of my daughters to HIV-AIDS, She was thirty- nine years old and a single parent of one child. To ensure the legacy of my daughter and to help bring awareness to the virus, my family and I founded The Dotes Foundation. Since its start, The Dotes Foundation has raised funds to help build a clinic for children and Aids patients in Swaziland, Africa-- a country that was hit hard by the HIV-AIDS virus.

For years I wanted to become a published author. My fear of stepping out and making my dream a reality kept me from publishing my work. At the age of seventy, I pushed back my fears and published my first book, Angel in the Midst, I later changed the cover and the title. The book became, Unvarnished Truths Beyond the Pole. I credit this mind shift to my family and my young pastor who encouraged me to be "all that I wanted to be" in life and I learned that it was not to late for me.

Four months after the release of my first book, I released my second book, "It Ain't Over Yet!". On September 28, 2015, my third book, "Unvarnished Truths, Coming Clean", was published. Over the course of one year. I have released three books! In august of 2016 I released the third book in the Unvarnished series, Unvarnished Truths Seeking Closure. I am also known as the Silver Fox. #silverfox

This major accomplishment has lit a fire in my soul. With the sky as my launching pad, that fire won't be put out anytime soon!
