McCreary Powers
Teacher in Sarasota, Florida
McCreary Powers is certainly a leader of the distinction, making an impact in education, sports, and community involvement. She spent her first ten years as a fourth-grade teacher and earned widespread recognition for being an able and understanding educator. As well as teaching, she imparted her knowledge of tennis and badminton to the young people at her local high school - serving as a coach for both sports and being a role model to the students.
Her devotion to her faith has also been demonstrated through numerous volunteering activities in her parish church, covering Sunday School teaching, co-chairing the search committee for a new priest and taking part in the Vestry. In addition to this, McCreary remains highly devoted to her local swim and racquet club, with which she participates in competitive tennis and paddling. Her dedication is evidenced by several leadership roles she holds there, such as membership chair, women's racquet chair, vice president and interim president.
