Lauren McCutcheon

Lauren McCutcheon; dreamer, creator, friend, and honor roll student. For as long as I can remember, art has been the activity I thrive in. All kinds of art; dance, painting, drawing, and music. I think this is why I am so driven to make it big in the Advertising industry. It is my dream to create things that attract people’s interests and attention.

I am currently attending Grand Valley State University. This is my third year and I really cannot see myself anywhere else but here. Making decisions is something that I stand by. Bad decisions, or good decisions, it doesn’t matter, they both get you to exactly where you are in life. The reason I chose Grand Valley was because of the vast amount of majors and minors they had to choose from. Now I think it’s a little absurd to ask an 18 year old straight out of high school, “what do you want to be for the rest of your life?”. I’m sure half of today’s population still doesn’t know what they want to do with their lives. So when asked this question, I would reply, “happy”. It’s a simple answer. At Grand Valley, studying public relations, I am happy, and that’s all that matters to me.

I haven’t accomplished nearly what I want to in my life, but being at GV and being exposed to the things I have never had the privilege to be exposed to; I feel lucky and optimistic about my future.
