The entrepreneurial spirit was awaken in Marie Champagne in 2012 by the founder of JuJu's Children's Manor. Their mission "Faith, Hope, and Love" inspired Marie by utilizing her love for quilting and drinking coffee as a way to fundraise for the children in Haiti. Through this she created MChampagne Designs. Quilting requires focus, patience, love, and passion. When I quilt, I create dynamic art and share it with others. These items become a cherished possession of love given to another that is irreplaceable. As we quilt, woman would discuss current topics, eat, drink coffee and tea, and pass along important key values. As for coffee, I love a good cup a few times a day. In coming across Organo Gold Gourmet Coffee and Teas, I found a way to get a health benefit out of one of may favorite pass times.
She donates a percentage of all proceeds to the JuJu's Children's Manor and is glad to help support the 42 children to attend school. She finds great pleasure in using her quilting and entrepreneurial skills to support education aboard . This organizations dear to Marie because JuJu's Children's Manor helps children who have been abandoned or are in rural areas. Education is not free in a Haiti (it costs $100 a year to send a child to school) and Marie is grateful that her family chose to immigrate to the United States, where education in free. Additionally, her family lineage in Haiti goes back to the 1700's.
In addition to her business, Marie is a math teacher in San Diego. She has been in education for over 15 years and teaches at the secondary and post secondary level. As she continues to enjoy her experiences teaching and she looks forward to her success as an entrepreneur.
