Mckenzie Fergus is a sophomore at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, majoring in public relations with an emphasis on strategic communications. She previously attended Baylor University and McMurry University, earning a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.77 at the two schools. While at McMurry University, Ms. Fergus produced and directed several short independent films and served as Vice President of the Film and Editing Club. She also held membership in the Web Site Production Club and organized a campus Valentine’s Madness event.
From April 2010 to May 2011, Mckenzie Fergus held an office position with the Star Dodge auto dealership in Abilene, responsible for responding to phone calls and managing the cash register, among other tasks. She has additional professional experience in Abilene as a U.S. Census Bureau Numerator and a Secretary with Fergus & Fergus, LLP. Ms. Fergus’ résumé extends to lead and supporting roles in film productions associated with The University of Texas at Austin and independent companies. She has also appeared in various theater productions, with roles including the Fairy Godmother in LMS Productions’ Cinderella, Peter Pan in APAC Productions’ Peter Pan, Virginia in Paramount Theater Productions’ Oklahoma!, and Maud in LMS Productions’ The Music Man.
Mckenzie Fergus’ training encompasses directing, film, commercials, improvisation, and musical theater studies at the Weist-Barron-ACTeen Academy in New York. She notably achieved top ranking at the Texas State Solo-Ensemble Competition and finalist status at a statewide poetry competition in 2006. Mckenzie Fergus has a longstanding interest in outdoor activities and is an advanced skier. She also enjoys water sports such as boating, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. An avid traveler, Ms. Fergus visited Europe in May and June 2011, participating in a half-marathon event in Edinburgh, Scotland. She also ran a full marathon in Ottawa, Canada, in 2009 and took second place in a Dallas half-marathon that year. Ms. Fergus enjoys listening to a wide range of music that includes Coldplay, Aerosmith, the Beatles, Sublime, Kings of Leon, and Ben Folds Five.
