Mckinley Hlady

Canada & Usa

McKinley grew up always shooting something (with a camera) he first dove into his passion for film through a high school work exp. program, securing a job on the set of renowned Canadian director Anne Wheeler’s '95 film, “The War between us” he quickly went from picking up rocks on the set, to producer meetings & helping to organize the shoot.

At 16, was key in the start up of Salt Spring Island’s first cable station with mentor Anna Klenman. A graduate of Gulf Island Film & Television School in western Canada, his first project, “Bulls Eye,” was broadcast in Seattle WA.

At 17, M went to work in the oil & gas drilling fields, working from 'lease-hand roughneck’ through the ranks to ‘Driller,’ managing crews working in the harsh - 50 ºC northern Canada climate, & overseas to the + 50ºC temperatures in Albania. Recognizing the world is in a time of transition, M has since committed himself to a life focus of positive impact, advocating for sustainable energy world solutions, leveraging his ties to the old energy world to benefit the new.

M achieved great success in the real estate boom of the early '00’s, & like many others, was then hit by the collapse / crash of the market. The experience brought him a new clarity solidifying the focus & pursuit of his true passion.

M re-engaged his creative focus in '10 when he met the owner of Victoria’s first commercial green screen studio, Island Industrial FX, & came on board as VP. In '12 M came on board to help produce Triton Films first feature film “Avarice” which sold to Lionsgate. He has since helped finance & produce a second feature film “Jackhammer” with name Hollywood talent which has screened at festivals around the world & been the recipient of multiple awards.

McKinley’s strong passion for art, music, film, & positive impact events has led him to organizing multiple events both for profit, & charity benefit. He is a super-connector that believes in fostering strong personal/professional relationships, treating every project as low budget keeping cash flow exponentially growing.

Along with growing projects in film, his latest venture is working with sustainable energy companies, entertainers & event groups to launch a New World Festival with a focus on bringing the ‘cool factor’ to the green movement.
