One of the main hobbies and interests of mine is running. My main inspiration for getting into running was my brother, who quite suddenly and unexpectedly found success at track in middle school. Wanting to see if I too had some natural talent, I began to practice and the hard work payed off. I made the team and continued to participate in track until I graduated high school. Once in high school, I also added cross country to my schedule. At that point I was running mostly year round and loved it. I made many friends and found it fulfilling on physical and emotional level. It provided a space where I could not focus on the stresses of life and also kept me in shape. Since being in college I have definitely the frequency of which I run has decreased and in turn I have got in worse shape. Despite losing my competitive ability I still very much enjoy running recreationally and try to do it as often as I can. Many of friends do the occasionally fun run and some have even discussed training for a marathon. I know that no matter what capacity it is in, running will remain a very important aspect of my life.
