MC Slim JB

MC Slim JB is a Boston-based restaurant critic and food/drinks feature writer. He currently writes first-look takes on new restaurants for Boston.com, the online affiliate of daily newspaper The Boston Globe. He has been writing about the Boston restaurant and bar scene professionally since 2005.

Previously, MC has reviewed restaurants and wrote food/drinks features for The Improper Bostonian, The Boston Phoenix and Stuff Magazine, Boston Magazine, Dig Boston, Take Magazine, Maxim Magazine, and El Planeta.

National online publications MC has written for include: Serious Eats (where he reviewed Boston craft cocktail bars), Gayot.com (as editor of its Boston restaurant pages), AskMen.com (writing its weekly A.List Boston feature), and Citysearch.com.

MC has written guest essays for a number of other blogs, including cocktail blog DrinkBoston, Denver food blog Denveater, and the food/drinks blog of online dating site Coffee Meets Bagel.

MC has appeared as an interview guest on WGBH-FM's "Under the Radar with Callie Crossley", Minnesota Public Radio's The Daily Current program, the Mystery Meet Boston podcast, and WFNX (101.7 FM, Boston).

MC still contributes to amateur food-nerd discussion board Chowhound.com, where he was first discovered by local media editors and invited to write about food and drink professionally. A New England native, he is a longtime resident of Boston.
