Md Abdul Mannan
Project Manager, Writer, and Volunteer in Bangladesh
Strategic education leader with 19+ years of experience in Bangladesh’s public education system, specializing in English language teaching, learner-centered pedagogy, and institutional improvement. A UNICEF-certified Communication for Development (C4D) and Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) practitioner, with training in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) from USAID, and foundational expertise in AI from University of Helsinki. My work focuses on transforming learning into measurable behavior change by integrating communication, education, and evidence-based practices. I have contributed to strengthening student engagement, participation, and inclusive classroom environments, with a focus on critical thinking and real-world learning outcomes. In my professional practice, I have supported significant improvements in student enrollment and engagement through community-focused approaches and communication-driven strategies, gaining recognition at institutional and media levels. I am particularly interested in bridging gaps between rural learners and access to higher education opportunities aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education). As a C4D/SBCC practitioner, I design and apply communication strategies that promote child protection, education continuity, and community awareness. My approach incorporates practical Monitoring & Evaluation methods to track outcomes and ensure interventions are grounded in evidence. I have also developed competencies in Education in Emergencies (EiE), including safeguarding, gender-responsive programming, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), enabling effective contribution in humanitarian and development contexts. Currently, I am leading the Protect & Learn Initiative, focusing on measles awareness, vaccination advocacy, and reducing school dropout risks through community engagement and behavior change communication. I am committed to contributing to international development and humanitarian programmes, particularly in education, child protection, and social and behavior change.
