Dr. Thomas R. Beaver

Licensed to practice medicine in California and Florida, forensic pathologist Dr. Thomas R. Beaver belongs to the American Medical Association, the National Association of Medical Examiners, the Florida Medical Association, and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, among many other professional organizations. In addition to his medical licenses, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver is certified in forensic pathology and anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Thomas R. Beaver has also been deemed an Expert Reviewer by the California Medical Board. Dr. Thomas R. Beaver studied Biological Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara and acquired his Doctor of Medicine from St. George University in Grenada. Conducting extensive research while performing his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver published articles on enzyme levels in people with prostate cancer, living with valve atresia, and Vibrio Cholerae bacterial infections in open wounds in Clinical Chemistry, the American Journal of Cardiology, and the Journal of Infectious Diseases, respectively. Currently, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver is in the process of completing a study entitled Vitreous Methamphetamine in the Evaluation of Methamphetamine Intoxication. Beginning his career as a forensic pathologist in 1992, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver served the Yosemite Pathology Medical Group, Inc. as an Associate Pathologist for two years. In 1994, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver was hired by Delta Pathology Associates as a Forensic Pathologist. Three years later, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver joined the 7th, 14th, and 24th Judicial Districts in Florida, first as an Associate Medical Examiner and eventually ascending ranks to Chief Medical Examiner. While working in Florida, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver fulfilled a gubernatorial appointment to the Florida Crime Laboratory Council from 2000 until 2002. After nine years with the Florida judicial system, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver transitioned to the scholastic sphere and accepted an Associate Professorship with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s Department of Pathology. During his tenure as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Thomas R. Beaver acted as Director of the institution’s Division of Forensic Pathology and as Chief Medical Examiner for Lubbock County.
