Maria Lopez Medel

Translator and Associate professor in Alicante, Spain

Hello, I’m a professional freelance translator and associate professor of translation at the University of Alicante, Spain.

I have translated freelance since 2000, with 22 books and thousands of newspaper and magazine articles translated. My working combination is English and French into Spanish. I also work with institutional, business and marketing texts.

Since 2014 I work for the EU Translation Centre in Luxembourg as an external freelance translator.

In 1999 I lived in London and worked for a subtitling company. I translated the subtitles of many films and TV series.

Previously I worked for 10 years at a specialised photography magazine as the editing director.

I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting (Spanish, English, French and German) from the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid.

I am also a certified translator of English by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
