Manuel Medina currently runs the Latin America and Canada business development group at Microsoft’s emerging mobile division, representing $50M of yearly revenue. He leads partnerships with mobile carriers as well as with mobile start ups. He established a joint venture with Telefónica and LG to manufacture and sell 4M phones for the Latin America consumer market rolling out to 13 countries in 2010. To complement the Microsoft/LG/Telefonica deal Manuel worked to build up co-development alliances with high-performing mobile companies such as Kinoma. Manuel also worked at Amazon where he engineered the compensation system for Amazon Associates (the web's largest and most successful affiliates business) and Web-Services which accounts for 15% of A's traffic. Manuel has an MBA from HBS, an MS in CS from UPenn.
