New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
It would be very easy to limit a description of me to "another retired Marine with over 20 years of service to his country," but that would be like describing New Orleans as simply "that town that was flooded by Hurricane Katrina." In addition to my military experience, I have a long history of volunteerism, community involvement, leadership and fun, and worldwide exploration.I have worked in acting, event DJing, electronics repair, retail sales, cash vault management, event security, event coordination, communications, trauma victim counseling and advocacy, and public announcing.
I am as comfortable leading a crowd of Arena Football or Roller Derby fans in group cheering in my MC announcer persona as I am leading a room full of police officers through my workshop on trauma informed compassionate questioning of sexual assault victims.
Now that I have hung up my uniforms and completed my education for now, I am ready to work in my community promoting tourism, local teams or events, hospitality and the community itself. Currently, I am doing this as a Promotions Associate at Harrah's New Orleans. I frequently act as the "Voice of Harrah's" as I host contests, giveaways, VIP parties, game shows and even fashion shows. My announcing doesn't stop there though! I am the stadium announcer for the pro Arena Football team, the New Orleans Voodoo as well as the emcee for the Big Easy Rollergirls. I also work at the nonprofit Metropolitan Center for Women and Children at the Outreach and Education Coordinator. I educate the community on important issues such as domestic violence and sexual assault response and prevention, stalking, and human trafficking.
This city deserves the enthusiasm and passion I will bring to its people and events!
