Meera has 10+ years in the NYC performing arts industry, sharing her passion for the ecstatic and bonding experience of live music as a curator and producer. She currently leads global curation at Shared_Studios, a global arts collective that helps people connect across distance and difference.
Previously, she enjoyed 4+ years helping make Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts more inclusive and diverse as the Programming Manager for the David Rubenstein Atrium and producer of the first ever Gnaoua Festival Tour in partnership with Morocco's Festival Gnaoua et Musique du Monde. Additionally, she has worked with globalFEST, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, The Jazz Gallery, Iraqi-American musician Amir ElSaffar, Moroccan sextet Innov Gnawa, and the Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi. Meera is originally from Charleston, South Carolina and holds a BA from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she concentrated in ethnomusicology.
When not working, you can find her enthusiastically dancing/crying at a concert or in line at the post office mailing real-life, handwritten letters.
