Meg VanDeusen

Meg VanDeusen currently works as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Kelantan, Malaysia. Meg is a lifelong student of culture and community with a particular interest in the empowerment of young women. Meg has pursued these interests across the globe to places such as Amsterdam, Uganda, and India conducting research and working on women's issues. Previously, Meg served as an administrator at a residential secondary school for low-income students outside of Bangalore, India, and has experience creating curriculum, teacher training, and organizational development . As a Morehead-Cain scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she directed HOPE Gardens to build relationships among local low-income residents through sustainable agriculture and led a local Girl Scout Troop. She graduated in 2014 with a B.A. in Anthropology and Women's studies and continues to be a firm believer in the power of experiential education and that anything can be accomplished over a shared meal.
