NORFOLK, VA (January 21, 2012) - Home of the most skilled artists that have hit the industry, Virginia's hip hop underground scene is still largely underestimated. But, one up and coming label is growing rapidly with the support of the seven cities behind them. Jerod A. Roberts professionally known as Mega launched his company in 2008 debuting as Mega Music with its first artist, Voe Black.
Now in it's third year, the Mega Music roster houses rappers Peso Dolla and Erica Payne as well as recently signed singer, Khadija. The camp has hit the streets hard, dominating open mic nights and showcases. But in 2011, the group won the 5 Mics Cipher Competition, uniformed in Hip Hop Lives attire; they touched the stage with the legendary Rakim leading to an overwhelming amount of positive responses.
Pushing the label with their individual solo projects, the group has gained over seventeen thousand views with their two leading cuts, "Hold On" by Miscelanyus featuring Voe Black with seven thousand views in its first three weeks and "Fresh Cut" by Peso Dolla. Now, the group is gearing up to record their compilation album which is scheduled to premiere in June.
