As a kid I never imagined being a teacher or living overseas, yet here I am! I love being a teacher and specifically a science teacher. I love the having the opportunity to open eyes to the fun and excitement in science!
I started my career at the International School of Bangkok as an annual substitute teacher in the middle school. I loved this experience and had a fantastic year learning from those around me. I was hooked on teaching internationally! I moved from Bangkok to Dubai where I have worked for the past five years. I have spent all five years in the science department at Dubai American Academy. My first three years I taught grade 6 and 7 science. Last year I traded my grade 6 students for grade 8s and have loved the new challenge of preparing "middle schoolers" for the high school! This year I took on the additional challenge of head of department and am loving the experience.
Outside of school I love to travel, which is one of the biggest draws to my life as an international teacher! My interest in travel has also resulted in a growing interest in photography. I am also an avid sports fan. I love to play and watch most sports! Specifically I love playing hockey and have been a goalie for as long as I can remember! Here in Dubai I play with the Dubai Gazelles as well as trying to keep up with the men in the Dubai Camels League.
