My name is Megan Banerjee, and I am a career international educator currently working in China. My husband and I spend our summers at our home in Indianapolis. My undergrad was completed in 2010 through the University of Indianapolis, where I graduated in Elementary Education and received endorsements in Reading, Mild Interventions and Technology. I subsequently began working in Warren Township in Indianapolis as a 6 grade teacher.

In 2011, my husband and I moved to China to pursue career opportunities. I began working as a Kindergarten teacher at a private Taiwanese school teaching EFL students. In 2012, I was recruited to help begin a new Canadian international school opening across town. Within four years, I grew from a teacher to the Director of Admissions. This Fall, I have joined an international school in Beijing that is based off the British curriculum. I teach Year 2 (USA equivalent of Grade 1) and am the Year Level leader for my team of eight teachers.

In addition to my US (Indiana) teaching license, I am also certified by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB-PYP), United Kingdom’s Department for Education, and Canada’s Ontario College of Teachers. My long-term goal is to remain in international education. I would like to someday be the Director (Superintendent) of a reputed international school, however, my more immediate goal is to move up to a Head of Primary position.

I am excited to learn about your experiences from an American public school perspective. I look forward to learning from all of you.
