Megan is a Teen Services Librarian at the Kitsap Regional Library system in Bremerton, Washington. She is committed to designing for and with young people in active learning spaces that celebrate diversity, digital media, and most importantly youth voice. Working with a dynamic Teen Advisory Board, Megan has created a venue for Kitsap County youth to be heard beyond the walls of the library. Megan contributes to the innovative Make Do Share framework used at Kitsap and other connected libraries. She also serves as a Content Expert for the YALSA Teen Programming HQ. In 2015, she was named one of the finalists for the 21 Century Award from the University of Washington iSchool, and was the recipient of the Jeannette M. Privat Endowment for Librarianship.
When she is not co-learning with her teens, Megan is always making something—from sewing conductive wearables to digital painting. She finds inspiration from loved ones, her Teen Advisory Board, and her library family. Megan lives in Tracyton, Washington with her husband Jon.
