Megan Egbert
Librarian, educator, and Writer in Boise, Idaho
Hi! I'm Megan, a librarian living in Boise, Idaho, and author of the book Creating Makers: How to Start a Learning Revolution at Your Library. I am a reluctant STEM convert, a maker enthusiast, a storyteller at heart, and a firm believer in the crucial role that libraries should play in our communities. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Boise State University in Multi-Ethnic Studies, a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas, and now I find myself taking Public Policy and Administration classes just for “fun.” I have written articles for Huffington Post, Idaho Magazine, Young Adult Library Services, and more. I have contracted with Google for research, I have done grant reviewing for the Institute of Museum and Library Services, I served as a book reviewer for School Library Journal, and I served on the 2019 Caldecott Committee. I'm active in local, regional, and national professional organizations. I'm interested in writing, grant development, presenting, and curriculum development.
