Megan McGowan

Bologna, Italy

I'm a Bologna-based freelance writer, exploring the food and drink scene in and around
the Fat City while finishing a masters at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Piedmont.

I'm a Brooklyn native, grew up in New Jersey, and studied religion and musical theater at Princeton. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher and spent some time in Southeast Asia with the non-profit Princeton in Asia. After a brief dark period in finance, I returned to the County of Kings to work in non-profit management, play in some experimental theater, and drink cheaper beer. Last year I left New York to get into the world of alternative food movements in Italy, and write entertaining observations about them. I'm into crunchy things like marriage equality, green livin, running around, and homemade granola.
