For someone who dislikes mushrooms, I spend a surprising amount of time surrounded by fungi. Luckily, I work with fungi that create colorful pigments in wood, not the fruiting bodies that I avoid on my plate.

Although my work experience is in mycology, I enjoy spending time peering in a microscope for all sorts of other very small organisms. On my wish list is the chance to use an electron microscope, work in BSL-3 conditions, and explore the East Coast.
