Megan Purazrang is from Kalamazoo, Mich. She received her Associate Degree in general studies from Kalamazoo Valley Community College before transferring to Columbia College Chicago (Chicago, Ill.) in 2011, where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.

She began taking steps toward a career as a writer in high school as editor-in-chief of the newspaper and photo editor of the yearbook. During her time in Chicago she published music reviews for the CNS Publication Windy City Banner, published on ChicagoTalks.org, held a position as assistant campus news editor at The Columbia Chronicle and worked for Channel 5, NBCChicago.com as a web intern, and was hired back as a freelance web producer to run the 2014 Chicago Auto Show website coverage. She went on to intern for author/journalist Robert K. Elder of the Chicago Sun-Times for five months.

Ms. Purazrang has worked as a freelance writer for Pioneer Press/ Sun-Times Media, NBCChicago.com., editorial assistant at SociaLife Chicago, and editor of MyMochaBaby.com.

She currently is a features reporter and photographer for the Franklin Favorite, a weekly newspaper, based in Franklin, Kentucky as well as a freelance writer for Big Frontier Communications out of Chicago, Ill.
